Demandit.org: Demand reality. Demand respect.

Get Involved

Demandit.org appreciates the effort of advocates like you. There are many ways to get involved with the site and to help us achieve our goals.

Spread the good news:

Help us to enact our Pledge Program! Tell every person you know about demandit.org and encourage site involvement. When our visitor count is high enough, we plan to contact many companies, asking them to pledge respect. This means: portraying women of various shapes, colors, and sizes in a manner that is not degrading or objectifying. We will then list the companies who agreed and the ones who did not. If we can prove that demandit.org has a following, then it is in companies' best interest to comply. The hit-o-meter is updated monthly (first update will be December, 2006). Launch us toward one million hits and beyond!

Share your support virtually—rock a demandit.org buddy icon. Or, friend us on myspace.

Write a letter:

Visit Bethany's Black List and tell companies what you think about unhealthy and disrespectful depictions of women.

Have an addition to the list? Email getinvolved@demandit.org.

Connect:

Become an active member of our community. Use our links to contact other advocates, or become a demandit blogger.

Create an ad:

See our guidelines.

Submit an article:

Articles are welcome. They must correspond to the site’s goals and must be original (no plagiarism will be tolerated). Please contact articles@demandit.org if interested in writing an article or submitting an already written article.

Rewards:

Once the site picks up, we would like to annually anounce the best submitted ad and award the artist. Correspondingly, we hope to recognize companies that consistently respect women in their ads. Send suggestions to getinvolved@demandit.org

Funding:

Please visit our cafepress store! Proceeds will go towards reimbursement for website hosting, rewards programs, and, eventually, a women's charity. For a thorough breakdown of needs, progress, and various details, check out our fiscal report.
